The National Foundation for Journalism & Media was founded with a clear vision — to uphold the highest standards of journalism, strengthen media ethics, and bridge the gap between the public, the press, and the government. In a time where misinformation spreads faster than truth, NFJM stands as a pillar of credibility, integrity, and public service.

We are a collective voice of more than 150 media houses from Jammu & Kashmir and India, committed to ensuring that journalism remains a force for accountability, transparency, and nation-building. Through our programs such as Grievance to Governance, Journalist Capacity Building, and Crisis Communication, we are creating systems that directly impact people’s lives.

I believe that the role of the media is not merely to report, but to empower, connect, and protect. NFJM’s mission is to ensure that every citizen’s voice is heard, every grievance is addressed, and every journalist is equipped with the tools and values to serve the truth fearlessly.

Together, with our dedicated members, advisory bodies, and partners, we will continue to strengthen the fourth pillar of democracy and ensure that journalism remains a profession of honour, courage, and public trust.
